LATEST TRENDS IN SKIN CARE – YOU MIGHT BE SURPRISED

In case you hadn’t noticed the latest trend in skin care is nutrition, nutrition, nutrition!  Not chemicals!

Today’s savvy skin care buyer is up with the latest in ingredients and is saying “no” to harsh and toxic ingredients.

In the past skin care manufacturers have been more focused on profit and keeping materials costs down. They have ignored the safety of their ingredients and the health of their customers. But that’s changing. People are finding out that many of the ingredients in even big name “trusted” brands are known to be toxic. And women (and men now) no longer want to smear themselves with known carcinogens or endocrine disruptors, among other things. It doesn’t even sound nice!

So, what do people want now?  And what are the benefits of change?

Now it’s all about nutrition: vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This is what your skin really wants. Just like any other organ skin thrives on being well fed. Give it plenty of nutrition and water and it will be happy.  A good skin care product will be all botanical, have high levels of compounds that actually feed your skin and make it clean and healthy. And no artificial fragrances. Kind of sounds obvious doesn’t it, but that has not been the case in the past.

So, what type of ingredients should you be looking for?  There are many that have worked well in the past. Such as blueberry, aloe vera, shea butter. These are still great, and you should look for them.  But there are new discoveries being made that are superior in many respects.

We all know that antioxidants are good internally, to eradicate free radicals.  But they are great topically as well. Part of the aging process is oxidative stress. That’s when free radicals damage your skin cells much like water causes rust. So, antioxidants are important in skin care as well.

One of the major ingredients we use is Australian Outback Kakadu Plum. This is a new discovery to western science. It’s a small green plum found only in the rainforests of Australia. It has the highest known vitamin C content of any known botanical with approximately 100 times the vitamin C of an orange by weight and ultra-high at 4.7 times the antioxidant ability of blueberry, until now the gold standard for antioxidants.

You want vitamin C and you want antioxidants.

Vitamin C is essential to vital and healthy-looking skin.  Kakadu plum significantly boosts the vitamin C content which stimulates collagen production which in turn encourages new skin cell growth and elastin for skin tone and elasticity. Antioxidants in Kakadu Plum, and other special ingredients we use, help to eradicate the free radicals.

We jam-pack our skin care with botanicals rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, polysaccharides and essential nutrients, all vital for healthy skin condition and youthful complexion.

Other majorly active ingredients we use are Australian Quandong, another unique Aussie super-fruit and undiluted pharmaceutical-grade Resveratrol and Co-Q10.  We will talk a bit more about these in a future blog. All-powerful anti-aging ingredients and we will explain later why you want them as well.

Stay tuned!
