Moving through the COVID-19 Pandemic
The past couple of months have been a trial for us all. And for some more than others.
Who would have known, as we entered the NEW Year back in January, that this year would be the one we are experiencing. In all of my years I have never seen a year like this one. Firstly the monstrous fires in Australia closely followed by COVID which swept the world like lightening!
But we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. In many places around the world the contagion rates are dropping. Businesses are starting to open back up, albeit slowly and cautiously. But it's all encouraging!
We, at Australiana Botanicals, have all been working from home. While some have found it a bit isolating, some of us have enjoyed the change of pace and being around our loved ones more during the day. There is always a silver lining in every dark cloud. You just have to look for it.
We are now used to wearing masks and they don't feel strange anymore. We are even used to not shaking hands when we meet. That was a habit hard to break. At least it was for me, being a naturally friendly person.
I think that this will change many things around the world. We are seeing a shift in business and personal practices. More people are shopping on line. Companies are planning on more virtual workers and reducing their office space. People are changing their habits and looking at other ways of doing things, like work, shopping, recreation. It will be interesting to see the fall out!
While we have seen declines in many businesses, some of which have been completely closed, such as restaurants and cinema's, I predict we will see a huge resurgence when the restrictions are lifted. There is pent up demand for goods, services and recreation, and I can see people getting out there and "catching up".
As I said earlier in the outbreak......"this too shall pass"......meaning all trials and tribulations come and go. And we are seeing that start to happen now.
So if you have been "down in the dumps" the past couple of months, take heart.
A great place to recreate right now is out in the great outdoors. Easy to social distance and it refreshes the soul to get up close and personal with nature.
For me, I love to hike the Rocky Mountains. Nature at its best. The photo above is my "backyard" taken last Saturday. and you will find me there as often as I can make it. See you "out there!"
